At La Loutre, we believe that packaging can tell a story long before the product itself is discovered. This shared vision brought us together with La Thé Box, France's leading tea subscription box, for a collaboration entirely dedicated to Brittany.

Our goal was to create a visual universe that would extend the tea-tasting experience: a beautifully illustrated box that invites people to travel from the very first glance and immerses tea lovers in the landscapes and atmosphere of Brittany. This collector's edition celebrates the region through an exclusive illustration created by Cléo, illustrator and co-founder of La Loutre.

La Thé Box: Taking Tea Lovers on a Journey

Since its creation, La Thé Box has been offering carefully curated selections of teas and herbal infusions every month, accompanied by a unique artistic universe. Each edition is designed as a true sensory journey, where flavors, discoveries, and illustrations come together to create a complete and memorable experience.

For this Brittany-themed edition, the La Thé Box team wanted a gift box that would capture the essence of this remarkable region: wild, luminous, authentic, and deeply inspiring.

A Collaboration Born from a Shared Love of Brittany

This collaboration felt like a natural fit. On one side, La Thé Box creates journeys through exceptional teas from around the world. On the other, La Loutre tells the story of places through illustration.

We also share strong values: a passion for quality products, the importance of storytelling, the desire to create original designs, and the ambition to showcase the richness of our heritage.

By dedicating this special edition to Brittany, we pursued the same goal: to evoke emotion and transport La Thé Box subscribers to the breathtaking Breton coastline.

Cléo's Creative Process: Capturing the Soul of Brittany

Like every collaboration we undertake, this project began with research, inspiration, and creative exploration. Cléo explored several artistic directions before finding the perfect balance between La Thé Box's identity and the signature style of La Loutre.

The illustration needed to evoke Brittany instantly without relying on clichés. Instead, we chose to highlight the region's authentic beauty: dramatic cliffs, sea spray, wildflowers, traditional Breton houses, sailing boats, lighthouses, and the ever-changing coastal light that makes Brittany so unique.

Every element of the composition was designed to invite the viewer on a journey and accompany the ritual of enjoying a cup of tea. The objective was not simply to decorate a box, but to tell a story that gradually unfolds as you explore every side of the packaging.

Designing Illustrated Packaging: A Creative Challenge

Creating illustrations for packaging is very different from designing a poster. A gift box has multiple sides that must work together while maintaining a seamless visual flow. The artwork has to integrate folds, openings, mandatory product information, and printing constraints without ever losing its harmony.

To achieve this, we created a panoramic illustration that wraps around the entire box. Each side reveals new details, new scenes, and new elements of the Breton landscape, allowing customers to discover the artwork little by little as they handle the box.

This process required numerous adjustments to ensure that every illustration aligned perfectly once the packaging was printed, assembled, and ready for production.

When Packaging Becomes a Keepsake

At La Loutre, we believe beautiful packaging deserves a second life. Rather than being thrown away, it extends the product experience and often becomes a decorative object in its own right.
